ADAC Zurich 24H race / Audi R8 LMS Cup: Car Collection Motorsport with a large contingent!

Next week, one of the biggest endurance races in the world will be held at the Nürburgring. Already on Monday, May 7, 2018, the teams will head for the Eifel region to prepare for the 46th edition of the ADAC Zurich 24H race and move into their seats in the paddock. The Team Car Collection Motorsport team of Peter Schmidt, based in Walluf in Hesse, faces a major challenge this year.

From 10th to 13th of May 2018, not only the 24-hour race will take place on the most beautiful and longest racetrack in the world. No, the supporting program is also richly filled. In addition to the rounds of the FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR), the Audi R8 LMS Cup, which originates from Asia, will be competing for the first time this year. The Audi R8 LMS models of the current generation, the predecessor model, the Audi R8 LMS Ultra as well as the Cup version of the Audi R8 LMS and the Audi R8 LMS GT4 will be available in four different classes.

The team Car Collection Motorsport is represented this year with 4 cars of the brand from Ingolstadt. Two Audi R8 LMS GT3 start at the legendary ADAC Zurich 24H race, with two more Audi R8 LMS GT3 making a guest entry in the Asian Audi R8 LMS Cup, which will be held for the first time in its seventh season on the Grand Prix circuit at the Nürburgring.

In the ADAC Zurich 24H race, the „Gentlemen“ drivers Christian Bollrath, Stefan Aust, Ronnie Saurenmann and Peter Schmidt start in the PRO-AM category on the Audi R8 LMS #14. Last year, the team took second place in the class and of course they would like to build on this success. The sister car with #15 will be driven by Simon Trummer, Adrien de Leener, Christopher Friedrich and Audi Sport customer racing driver Pierre Kaffer. Trummer starts in the past in GP2 and the FIA-WEC Endurance Championship. Adrien de Leener and Christopher Friedrich both usually start in the ADAC GT Masters.

In the Audi R8 LMS Cup, Car Collection uses two more Audi R8 LMS GT3. Dimitri Parhofer starts with #1, Dirg Parhofer starts with #66. After a free practice of 70 minutes, there will be two 15 minute qualifying sessions. In two 30-minute races, the two Parhofer’s will have to compete not only against the registered participants, but also against numerous guest starters from Germany.

The two races of the Audi R8 LMS Cup can be followed live on the website at http://www.audi-motorsport-asia.com/en/Home/Live. As in the past year, the ADAC Zurich 24H race will be broadcast live and without interruption by the TV station RTL Nitro for more than 25 hours.
