HANKOOK 24H DUBAI: Two Audi R8 LMS starts for Car Collection Motorsport!

The 2018 season starts for Car Collection Motorsport from 10th to 13th of January 2018 in the United Arab Emirates. The team around Peter Schmidt starts at the HANKOOK 24H DUBAI for the twelfth time. For the third time, two Audi R8 LMS GT3 will race for the team from the Rheingau at the 5.390 km circuit.

The Audi R8 LMS #33 was given a new look for the desert marathon. The car with the orange X-Direct Group design is shared by Dimitri and Dirg Parhofer from Germany, Rémi Terrail from Switzerland and Ali Çapan from Turkey. The four gentlemen drivers are also supported by Audi Sport customer racing driver, Frank Stippler, also from Germany.

The sister car, the Audi R8 LMS GT3 #34 in the Kirchhoff design, will continue to drive in 2018 with the well-known driver’s crew, but with one exception. The reigning rookie champion, Max Edelhoff, can’t start at the HANKOOK 24H DUBAI due to scheduling reasons. The cockpit therefore shared by Dr. Johannes Kirchhoff, Gustav Edelhoff, Elmar Grimm and Ingo Vogler.

The first practice sessions will start on Wednesday, January 10th, at 11:00 AM (14:00 CET). More free practice sessions will be held on Thursday before qualifying at 5:00 PM (20:00 CET).
